Plump Wines & Booze
Project
Logotype, an interior installation, a website and printed ephemera designed for Plump, a neighborhood wine shop in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
Phillip Niemeyer — design
Alex Egan — assistance with the design & installation of wall graphic
Process
Plump's aquatic theme was inspired by the Brooklyn aquarium (the owners' little girls love going there).
You might see a wine bottle between the two sea horses.
The wall graphic is an assemblage of hundreds of separate paper assets made up of three general units: the waves, the coral and the fish. Each unit was silkscreened in a range of colors, then wheatpasted to the wall in an impromptu collage. Rules governed the placement of each unit. The waves go from light to dark as the collage progresses down. The coral was placed near the floor, as it would lie in the actual ocean.
Stickers were hand drawn and feature six different sea creatures.
